Njube Man Arrested After Attempting to Sell Stolen Television via WhatsApp – A 31-year-old man from Njube, Jordan Ncube, has been remanded in custody after appearing before Western Commonage magistrate Mr Archie Wochiwunga on charges of unlawful entry and theft.
According to the State, represented by Prosecutor Ms Audrey Kufandikanwe, the alleged incident occurred on 18 June when Ncube, in the company of an accomplice identified only as Mncedisi (who is still at large), unlawfully broke into a residence in Entumbane.
H Metro reported that the pair allegedly gained entry into Ms Isabel Moyo’s home by forcefully breaking a padlock.
Once inside, they proceeded to the lounge, where they reportedly stole a 43-inch Luxuco plasma television and an OpenView decoder before fleeing the scene.

However, Ncube’s attempt to profit from the theft was short-lived.
The following day, he advertised the stolen television in a WhatsApp group, unknowingly setting the stage for his arrest.
A prospective buyer, Wellington Mthunzi, responded to the advert, met with Ncube, and purchased the television set for US$130.
Investigations by the police led to the recovery of the stolen television and the subsequent arrest of Ncube.
The decoder remains missing, and authorities are continuing efforts to apprehend Mncedisi.
Magistrate Wochiwunga remanded Ncube in custody until 23 July.
The case remains under investigation.
