Nigerian Woman and Infant Killed in Bus Crash After Being Turned Away by Child’s Father

A Nigerian woman and her infant child lost their lives in a fatal road accident after her child’s father allegedly refused to let them into his home.
The heartbreaking incident has sparked widespread discussion on X (formerly Twitter), where users are debating parental responsibility and emotional neglect.
The deceased, identified as Teemah, had been in a relationship with Taiwo Odushina, the father of her child.
Reports indicate that Taiwo arranged for Teemah to live separately from him in Ibadan, while he remained in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Despite this setup, she sought answers regarding his absence from their child’s life.
Seven months after giving birth, Teemah travelled to Lagos to visit Taiwo, reportedly hoping to discuss his lack of involvement in their child’s upbringing.
However, upon arriving, he allegedly refused to let her into his house or allow her to spend the night, forcing her to leave immediately.
Following the confrontation, Teemah boarded a bus back to Ibadan. Tragically, she was involved in a devastating accident that claimed both her life and her child’s.
According to viral posts on X, friends of Teemah alleged she had endured emotional and verbal abuse throughout her relationship with Taiwo.
They claimed she had repeatedly reached out for support but remained hopeful that circumstances would improve.
Further disturbing details shared on social media suggest that Taiwo allegedly gave their child’s placenta to his girlfriend, raising concerns about his treatment of Teemah and the baby.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officials later contacted her family using details retrieved from her SIM card, after the accident left her phone smashed.
Following the tragic revelation, users on X have called for legal action against Taiwo, urging authorities to investigate his alleged negligence in the events leading up to the fatal crash.
Some believe his actions contributed to the circumstances that forced Teemah to travel, ultimately leading to her death.
Taiwo reportedly visited the morgue, admitted he had sent her away and showed little remorse.
He then left without informing her family.
The incident has reignited discussions about parental responsibility, domestic abuse and emotional neglect, with many calling for stronger protections for vulnerable mothers and children.
