Nigerian Man Divorces Wife on Facebook – A Nigerian man has gone viral on social media after publicly announcing his divorce from his wife through a Facebook post.
Muhammad Kabir took to the social networking platform on June 14, 2026, to declare that he had divorced his wife, Bilkisu.
In the now-viral post, Kabir wrote: “Me Muhammad Kabir, I divorce my wife Bilkisu 3 times divorce. Idiot.”
The statement appeared to reference the Islamic practice commonly known as “triple talaq,” where a husband pronounces divorce three times to end a marriage under certain interpretations of Islamic law.

Others debated whether a divorce declared through a Facebook post would carry any legal or religious validity, depending on the applicable laws and religious guidelines in the couple’s jurisdiction.
