Nigerian Lawyer Urges Married Women to Secure Property in Their Own Names – A Nigerian lawyer has advised married women to prioritise buying property in their own names as a safeguard against marital uncertainty.

Writing on X (formerly Twitter), the lawyer, known as @dammyesquire, cautioned that contributing to a husband’s property projects does not guarantee loyalty or security in marriage.

“Divorce, separation, and even polygamy are real possibilities,” she stated. “Supporting your husband should come from love and faith, not as a guarantee against betrayal.”

She further urged women to pursue personal growth alongside marriage, emphasising that “love is beautiful, but wisdom is necessary.”
