NAMA Releases Nominees: Winky D, Jah Prayzah GOAT Debate Continues – The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) has unveiled the nominees for the 24th edition of the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA), setting the stage for a thrilling contest between music heavyweights Winky D and Jah Prayzah.

The two artistes, often regarded by fans as contenders for the “Greatest of All Time” (GOAT) title in Zimbabwean music, will battle it out in two major categories — Outstanding Music Video and the People’s Choice Award.

In the Outstanding Music Video category, Jah Prayzah’s Kuno, directed by Vusa Hlatshwayo (Director Blaqs) and Davis Hanzu (Director Dave), will compete against Winky D’s Fake Love, directed by Tawanda Sibotshiwe (Jusa Dementor).

Also nominated in the same category is Nguva NdeyaMwari by Dorcas Moyo, directed by Hastings Chiromo (Mr. Hasty).

Jah Prayzah leads this year’s nominations with four nods overall, further cementing his dominance on the local music scene.

The awards ceremony is scheduled for 28 February at the Harare International Conference Centre under the theme “Fearless Creativity.”

Organisers revealed that the nominees were selected from 1,117 submissions, covering works produced between 1 December 2024 and 30 November 2025.
