Naked man found living in 93-year-old’s crawlspace for six months
CALIFORNIA – A 93-year-old woman’s persistent concerns about mysterious nighttime noises beneath her El Sereno home prompted police to discover a naked man living in the crawlspace for six months.
California woman revealed that mysterious noises at her El Sereno home left her uneasy for weeks until a shocking discovery changed everything.
“At first, I thought it was just dogs and cats making noise at night. However, when the noises got louder, I knew something was off, and that’s when I called the police.”
“We were stunned when police officers found Issac Betancour,
(27) living naked in the crawlspace, seemingly for an extended period,”she said.
Ricardo Silva, the son-in-law of the 93-year-old homeowner, described the suspicious nighttime noises that led to the discovery of Issac Betancour living in the crawlspace.
“During nighttime hours, we first assumed the noises were animals under the house, but the knocking pattern seemed unusual.”
“The knocking noises would fade away when my wife approached the source of the sound.”
The police spent hours negotiating with the man, but he refused to leave.
“Attempts to intimidate him with police dogs proved unsuccessful, as he remained unaffected. Ultimately, authorities used tear gas in the crawlspace to safely remove him,” said Silva.
Silva expressed relief that the ordeal ended peacefully.
“Following his removal, Betancour was taken into custody and underwent medical evaluation at a nearby hospital,” he added.
