Nairobi woman dies in suspected suicide leap

Nairobi police are investigating a suspected suicide after a 45-year-old woman fell from the 19th floor of View Park Towers on Wednesday evening, resulting in her death.

According to police reports, Charity Muthoni Mutoi had visited her male friend’s printing business, located on the same floor, prior to the incident.

The two friends enjoyed tea together, but their pleasant gathering took a devastating turn.

She stepped away, only to send a heartbreaking message revealing her intention to end her life.

Police officials confirmed that upon arriving at the scene, security guards discovered Muthoni had left behind her shoes, jacket and mobile phone on the 19th floor before taking the fatal leap.

According to eyewitness accounts, her body sustained severe injuries and fragmented upon impact on the Uhuru Park side.

She succumbed to her injuries after landing on a tent on the ground floor of the building.

A police spokesperson said the remains were transported to the City Mortuary where an autopsy is pending.

The investigation is ongoing with officials yet to establish a clear motive for Muthoni’s tragic death.
