Mwazha Enters 2025, Sparking Debate Over Java’s Prediction

Passion Java, a Zimbabwean self-proclaimed prophet, has ignited discussions following his claim that Paul Mwazha, the 106-year-old founder of the African Apostolic Church, would not survive to see the year 2025.

Despite Java’s alarming prophecy, Mwazha—widely recognized as “Mutumwa”—has welcomed the New Year alive and well.

On November 1, 2024, Java posted a message on his Facebook account, stating that he had envisioned Mwazha’s departure before the year’s end. In his post, he urged churchgoers to pray for peace and unity within the church, warning of potential discord among its leadership.

“As the year draws to a close, I saw the departure of Paul Mwazha, going to be with the Lord,” Java wrote. He added, “To the church in Zimbabwe, I urge you to pray fervently for peace and unity within the walls of his congregation. For I have seen a vision of discord and division among the top leadership, threatening to fracture the church. Succession disputes shall arise.”

As 2024 ended and 2025 began, Mwazha remains alive, albeit frail. His last public appearance was during his 106th birthday celebration, where he was greeted by supporters and well-wishers. Hence, one can say, Java’s prediction has not yet come to pass.

The juxtaposition of Java’s prediction and Mwazha’s continued presence raises questions about the implications of prophetic claims within religious communities and the responses they elicit from followers.
