Mutare Man (20) Takes Own Life After Girlfriend Elopes – A 20-year-old man from Muvangirwa Village under Chief Marange in Mutare took his own life after his pregnant girlfriend eloped to his home.
Godknows Madyambudzi ended his life two days after Providence Borida Gombe (20) arrived at his family home on March 25, claiming to be four months pregnant with his child. Godknows did not deny responsibility for the pregnancy.
His father, Tawanda Madyambudzi (44), advised him to take responsibility and make plans for their future together. To support them, he provided the couple with a room in his house and assured them of financial assistance whenever needed.

However, on March 28, Godknows left home to herd cattle but did not return by 5 PM, causing concern among his family members.
His stepmother, Rosemary Dhliwayo, grew worried and was informed that he had gone to a nearby mountain with the cattle.
When she went to look for him, she was devastated to find his lifeless body hanging from a tree, with a wire tied around his neck.
The incident was reported to Odzi Police Station, according to Kwayedza, and authorities are currently investigating.
