Murewa Kombi Conductor K!lls Passenger During Dispute – A kombi conductor known by the nickname Coconut is under police investigation after allegedly fatally ass@ulting a passenger during a heated altercation at Pajuru Growth Point (Bhora) in Murewa.
The incident occurred at the Zhanje bus terminal as passengers disembarked from a commuter omnibus traveling from Harare.
According to witnesses, a verbal dispute broke out inside the vehicle between the conductor and one of the male passengers over change and seating arrangements.

“He was shouting, and then suddenly I saw the conductor push him hard,” said one bystander who witnessed the exchange.
“The man fell and hit his head. Blood started coming from his head. People screamed.”
The victim, whose identity has not yet been released by police, reportedly collapsed on impact and suffered a severe head injury.
He was pronounced d£ad at the scene.
Another witness described the scene as “chaotic and heartbreaking,” adding, “We never expected such violence from someone who works with people daily.”
The vehicle involved was allegedly being driven by a man identified as Chiringa, who, along with the conductor, may face serious charges if found responsible.
Legal experts say the conductor could face charges of culpable h0micide or murd£r, depending on intent and evidence gathered during investigations.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is yet to officially issue a statement confirming the case.
“We are treating this matter with the seriousness it deserves and more details are yet to be revealed,” said an officer who attended the scene.
“We urge witnesses to come forward to assist with the investigation.”
The incident has sparked outrage among local commuters and residents, who are demanding justice and better conduct from public transport operators.
