Mozambique mourns loss of two nationals in ill-fated fish heist
MOZAMBIQUE-Tragedy struck at Ngapani Estate in Mangochi District, where two Mozambican nationals lost their lives in a dam while attempting to steal fish.
District Police Spokesperson Amina Daudi confirmed the incident.
“The deceased Mozambican nationals are Chiwaya Brake (45) and Asedi Malunda (38) from Ngauma District in Mozambique.
“The deceased went to the estate intending to steal fish from the farm. When they did not return home after a day, their worried wives reported them missing at the estate.”
“Following an investigation, the bodies of the two men were retrieved from the water and a post-mortem examination revealed that they had died from suffocation”, said Daudi.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased have been taken to Mozambique, where the funeral ceremony will be held.
