Motorist on the Run After Shooting Security Guard at Harare Nightclub

HARARE – In a shocking incident, a security guard was shot in the left thigh by a motorist outside The Don nightclub, a popular hotspot in Warren Park D, Harare, on Sunday night.

The motorist, driving a Ford Ranger with registration number ACT 2324, allegedly fired a single shot after a heated argument with the security guard, who had accused him of blocking the entrance to the nightclub.

According to eyewitnesses, the confrontation escalated quickly, with the motorist pulling out an unidentified pistol and firing at the guard.

As a result, the security guard sustained a gunshot wound and was rushed to Suburban Hospital in Warren Park 1.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident.

“The matter is currently under investigation and we are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest,” said Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza.

Inspector Chakanza added that the police take incidents of this nature seriously and are working to ensure that the suspect is brought to justice.
