Mhondoro man faces justice for heinous rape of 78-year-old granny

A man from Mhondoro under Chief Nyamweda has been given a 20-year prison sentence for brutally raping a 78-year-old granny while she was asleep in her homestead, threatening her with a knife to follow his orders.

Bright Ajusi (23)arraigned before the Mhondoro Magistrates’ Court facing rape charges.

The State alleges that on June 3, 2024, the accused person forcibly entered the 78-year-old complainant’s home while she slept, pulled out a knife and proceeded to rape her five times.

After the incident, the complainant alerted her neighbor who assisted in filing a police report, resulting in the accused person’s arrest.
