Medicine menace: R300 000 worth of drugs seized from unlicensed seller

SOUTH AFRICA – A massive medicine bust in Polokwane has resulted in the arrest of a suspect and the seizure of R300 000 worth of medicines.
According to police, the suspect was arrested yesterday after a tip-off from a member of the public led to a raid on his home.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, is expected to appear in court today to face charges under the Medicines and Related Substances Act.
Colonel Ledwaba, a senior law enforcement officer, praised the community for their role in the arrest. “Residents play a crucial role in helping authorities by reporting any suspicious behavior or illegal activities,” he said.
The arrest is the latest in a series of crackdowns on illegal medicine distribution in the province.
