Meat heist turns sour for Karoi thieves
KAROI – A trio from Myrlen Farm, Karoi has been sentenced to 9 years imprisonment each on allegations of stealing and slaughtering a homeless steer worth USD$450 from Nyangawe Village 5.
Damson Madhara, (25), Agripa Siyagwaya (23) Tatenda Sinamaponde(21)appeared before the Karoi Magistrates Court facing stock theft charges.
Allegations are that on September 29, 2024, the accused persons took and slaughtered a brown and white homeless steer from Nyongawe Village 5 grazing land around 2300 hours.
It is alleged that on October 2, 2024, Madhara was arrested and implicated Siyagwaya and Siyanamaponde resulting in their subsequent arrest.
The court heard that the trio led investigators to the recovery of a sack containing 16kg of dried meat which was buried near a well.
