Mberengwa Rural District Council Gets 50 Motorbikes to Boost Service Delivery

MBERENGWA – In a bid to enhance public service delivery and community engagement, the government has commissioned 50 motorbikes for Mberengwa Rural District Council using devolution funds and internally generated revenue.
The motorbikes were handed over to the council as part of the government’s devolution agenda, which aims to decentralize power and resources to local authorities.
Mberengwa Rural District Council Chairperson, Councillor Garisikai Moyo, expressed gratitude for the motorbikes, stating, “We appreciate this, we managed to secure this on our own, we need to improve and up our game in service delivery. This will enhance their mobility in their respective wards, resulting in the effective and efficient coordination of developmental activities throughout the 35 wards.”
Deputy Minister of Local Government and Public Works, Honourable Albert Mavhunga, reiterated the government’s commitment to full implementation of the national vision 2030 and related policy drivers of becoming an upper-middle-income economy.
Councillors have promised quality service delivery, with one beneficiary saying, “Equipment recapitalisation is a key driver in the achievement of the National Development Strategy 1. We appreciate this, and we are going to reach every part of the community.”
