Massive Drug Syndicate Crushed: 17 Arrested, 175kg of Mbanje Seized

Police in Harare and Beitbridge have arrested three transporters and 14 drug dealers during a coordinated operation targeting illegal drug trafficking.

This led to the recovery of 1,098 boxes of unregistered medicines and 175 kilograms of mbanje.

The suspects, apprehended on Monday are set to appear in court soon.

National Police Spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the arrests, saying, “The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms the arrest of three transporters and 14 drug dealers on March 24, 2025, in Harare and Beitbridge.

Among the suspects are Sydney Ndlovu (39), Delight Ndlovu (37), and Diana Moyo.

They were apprehended for unlawful possession of unregistered medicines and 175 kilograms of mbanje.

During the operation, police recovered unregistered medicines, including Broncleer, Adco Saltapen, Bernlin Codeine, Astrapen, and Stilpane cough syrups.”

This operation demonstrates the authorities’ ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and illegal activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of communities across Zimbabwe.
