Man Strangles BabyMama to Death Over Cheating Allegations, Then Hangs Himself with Dish Cloth
SOUTH AFRICA- Residents of Happy Valley in Blackheath are in shock after a tragic incident on Monday, October 27.
A 36-year-old man is alleged to have strangled his 35-year-old girlfriend before taking his own life using a dish cloth.
The tragedy reportedly followed a heated argument in which the man accused his girlfriend of cheating. Neighbours say the couple often fought and had a troubled relationship.
Family member Nolubabalo Sikhongwana was alerted by a neighbour who mentioned that the man had threatened to kill his girlfriend and their child.
“When we arrived, he was hanging, and there was the body of the mother. The child likely thought the mother was just sleeping, so we took her away from the house,” she said, expressing her grief over the loss of both parents.
Neighbours described the relationship as toxic, filled with frequent arguments. “They always fought. Their relationship had become very toxic, with both physical and emotional conflicts,” said one neighbor.
Nomfundo Nyhila, chairwoman of the South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) in the area, expressed the community’s devastation. “We believe the boyfriend strangled the girlfriend during a fight.
After realizing what he had done, he hanged himself,” she said, urging people to leave toxic relationships to avoid tragic outcomes. Police spokesman Captain Frederick Van Wyk confirmed the incident, stating that the Mfuleni police registered two counts of inquest after discovering the bodies on Monday morning. – Daily Sun
