Man sentenced to 30 years for fatal bottle store altercation
GWERU – A harrowing tale of violence and tragic consequences unfolded in the High Court of Gweru, as 26-year-old Tendai Tonderai Marihoho was sentenced to 30 years in prison for the brutal murder of a 40-year-old man at a local bottle store.
It is the State’s case that on August 10, 2022, at Senzo Bottle Store, Jekwe Business Centre, the now-deceased confronted Marihoho over an assault on his father.
The court heard that a misunderstanding arose between the two,leading to the accused person to producing an okapi knife and attempting to stab the victim, however they were restrained by bystanders.
It is alleged that Marihoho later dragged the victim outside the bottle store, poured beer on him, and fatally stabbed him once on the chest before fleeing the scene.
The report was filed to the police which led to the arrest of the accused person.
