Man Sentenced to 15 Years for S0d0mizing Another Man

The Gwanda Magistrates’ Court has sentenced a 24-year-old man to 15 years in prison for aggravated indecent assault. The incident occurred on January 24, 2025, in Guyu, when the offender engaged in non-consensual anal intercourse with a 25-year-old male complainant while he was asleep.
Aggravated indecent assault refers to a serious s£xual offense in which a person engages in s£xual acts without consent, often involving violence or the threat of violence. This type of assault is considered more severe than standard indecent assault due to the circumstances surrounding the act, including the vulnerability of the victim.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, the assault was preceded by a series of events that began in December 2024.
The offender approached the complainant, claiming that someone was trying to bewitch him and offered to help with “prayers” to address the issue. On the night before the assault, the offender visited the complainant’s home, applied oil to his stomach and back, and both fell asleep.
The complainant awoke to find the offender having anal s£x with him. After confronting him, the offender warned the complainant not to tell anyone. However, the complainant later informed his parents, who encouraged him to report the incident to the police.
