Man Jailed 7 Years for Sexually Assaulting Women and Breaking Into Victim’s Bedroom

A 36-year-old man from Hwange will spend the next seven years behind bars after pleading guilty to a disturbing spree of sexual assaults targeting two women — including forcing his way into one victim’s bedroom in the dead of night.
The chilling incidents occurred between 29 September and 1 October 2025, when the offender repeatedly fondled the women’s private parts without consent, terrorising his victims over several days.
But the nightmare escalated on 2 October 2025.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), the man opened an unlocked door and entered one victim’s bedroom, confronting her inside her own home. Once inside, he launched a verbal attack, calling her “ikhanda lewotshi,” a Ndebele insult meaning “pig-head,” a degrading slur that prosecutors say deeply violated her dignity.
The Hwange Magistrates’ Court convicted him on six counts of indecent assault and one count of aggravated unlawful entry, handing down a 7-year effective prison sentence.
