Man Arrested for Using Super Glue to Fix Dog’s Torn Ear

SOUTH AFRICA- The Cape of Good Hope SPCA is looking into Jamie Pieterse, who is part of the K9 Patrol Pet Army, for possible animal cruelty. This non-profit group has been accused of misleading people to collect donations for animal care.

The investigation started after a disturbing video showed Pieterse treating an injured dog in Hanover Park in a harmful way. In the video, he tries to fix the dog’s torn ear with super glue and aloe, without cleaning the wound or giving the dog any pain relief or medicine. This goes against proper veterinary care.

Pieterse is not registered with the South African Veterinary Council, so he cannot perform veterinary work, as reported by IOL. The video shows the dog in pain, crying out while Pieterse holds it down and uses the glue.

This video evidence has helped build a case against him. The SPCA, along with local police and city law enforcement, arrested Pieterse. He now faces charges for animal cruelty and for doing veterinary work without permission.

SPCA Inspector Jeffrey Mfini ensured the dog received urgent care, and the staff are now treating it at the SPCA Hospital. The SPCA is also asking people to be careful when donating to animal welfare groups.
