Man Arrested for Raping 10-Month-Old Baby
INDIA- A 30-year-old man, Deepak Kumar Lalbabu Singh, has been arrested in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 10-month-old girl in Panoli village, Bharuch, on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Kushal Oza, the incident occurred when the man took the baby from her courtyard while she was playing. It is reported that he raped the infant while transporting her to his home.
The police revealed that the child’s mother works at a local restaurant and that the accused was familiar with the family, having visited their home multiple times to interact with the child.
On the day of the incident, the child’s grandmother heard the baby’s cries and rushed to find her bleeding and severely injured nearby.
Local residents, outraged by the situation, apprehended the accused and handed him over to the police.
Upon arriving at the scene, the child’s mother quickly took her daughter to Bharuch Civil Hospital, where her condition worsened due to the extensive injuries.
The police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Legal proceedings are currently underway.
As part of the investigation, medical examinations of both the victim and the accused have been conducted.
