MAJOR DRUG BUST: Zimbabwe Police Seize 205.5kgs of Dagga, Arrest Five in Two Separate Incidents

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Zimbabwean police arrested five suspects and seized 205.5 kilograms of dagga in two separate incidents.
According to a statement posted on the Zimbabwe Republic Police Twitter handle account, on March 8, 2025, police in Masvingo apprehended two men, Limbikani Mwanandi (36) and Speakmore Mhonda (39), for unlawful possession of 200 kilograms of dagga.
The suspects were arrested at an open space near the intersection of Harare-Masvingo and Bulawayo-Masvingo Roads while transferring the dagga from a broken-down cross-border bus to a Nissan Caravan vehicle.
In a separate incident, on March 6, 2025, police in Harare arrested three suspects, Petronella Masauso (36), Maryland Tarusarira (29) and Achford Mavhima (30), for unlawful possession of drugs.
Police recovered 5.5 kilograms of dagga from the suspects.
The police have urged members of the public to report any information related to drug trafficking to the authorities.
