In a separate matter, Prophet Magaya’s trial on five counts of rape is set to begin on January 16.

The Magayas are facing a total of 78 fraud charges related to their companies, Planet Africa Private Limited and Yadah Connect Private Limited.

The State claims they defrauded complainants out of US$49,240 and R195,000 in a failed land deal, The Herald reports.

They are accused of misleading potential buyers by promising residential plots that they did not deliver, resulting in significant financial losses for those involved.
