Magaya Set to Appear in Court Today

The trial of Prophet Walter Magaya, founder of Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries, is scheduled to begin today at the Harare Magistrates Court.

Magaya faces five charges of rape, with accusations that he fathered a child with one of the alleged victims.

These incidents reportedly took place between 2018 and 2023 and involve two complainants.

In a separate case, Magaya, along with his wife Tendai and their two companies, is awaiting a trial date for 78 charges of fraud.

The next hearing for this case will be set tomorrow at the High Court. The couple is accused of misleading congregants about available residential stands for sale across Zimbabwe, resulting in a loss of around US$49,240 and R195,000 in a failed land deal.

They are also charged with soliciting investments from individuals, promising a 50% return in six months, which they did not deliver.
