Livestock Loot Scandal: Mvurwi Farm Manager Arrested for Stock Theft

NORTON- The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested Darlington Mapfumo, a farm manager in Mvurwi, on stock theft charges, a serious offense under Zimbabwean law.

The suspect is accused of stealing 100 cattle and 38 Boer goats from his employer between 2021 and April 2025, with the stolen livestock valued at US$56,840.

In a statement shared on their official Twitter account, ZRP confirmed the arrest in Norton and reported that investigators have so far recovered 20 of the 100 stolen cattle.

The case is now proceeding under Zimbabwe’s stock theft laws, with police continuing efforts to locate the remaining stolen livestock and establish the full extent of the suspect’s involvement.

Authorities have urged farmers to remain vigilant, as livestock theft continues to be a major concern, leading to financial strain and legal battles for victims.

Police have assured the public of decisive action against perpetrators.
