Liverpool in Talks to Sign Hugo Ekitike for Over £70 Million

Liverpool is in advanced negotiations to sign striker Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt for more than £70 million.

Reports suggest that Liverpool hopes to finalize the transfer by this weekend. Newcastle United recently had a £70 million bid for Ekitike rejected by Frankfurt, but Liverpool’s offer is expected to be higher, reports BBC.

Ekitike is interested in joining Liverpool, the reigning Premier League champions, who are looking for a central striker.

Liverpool is also considering Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, but Newcastle insists he is not for sale at any price.

This summer, Liverpool has already signed midfielder Florian Wirtz in a potential British record deal worth £116 million, and they also paid £40 million for Milos Kerkez and £30 million for Jeremie Frimpong.

Meanwhile, Newcastle is likely to increase their interest in Brentford striker Yoane Wissa in the next 24 hours as their efforts to secure Ekitike have slowed down.
