Lightning strike leaves 65-year-old grandmother homeless

MASVINGO – A devastating lightning strike has left a 65-year-old grandmother displaced and vulnerable after her sole hut was razed to the ground in Nemakonde, Chief Makore area on Wednesday, destroying all her belongings.
Mbuya Mary Nyamandi was left with nothing but the clothes on her back, and is now desperately seeking assistance.
In an exclusive interview with AfroGazette News, Gogo Nyamandi opened up about the traumatic lightning strike that destroyed her life’s work and left her with nothing.
“I was at my neighbor’s when the rain was subsiding. Suddenly, I spotted smoke billowing from my homestead. I rushed towards it, only to find my hut ravaged by a lightning-induced fire.”
“Clothes, vital documents, blankets, furniture and food were all lost in the blaze,” she revealed.
