Lagos security guard mauled to death by unleashed dogs

LAGOS – In a tragic incident that has sparked outrage on social media, the Lagos State Police arrested a dog owner after three of his dogs allegedly mauled a security guard to death.
On a fateful Monday night, Pinnock Estate in Lekki, Lagos State was rocked by a tragic incident that has since stirred intense reactions across social media.
A disturbing video shared by X user @itzbasito shows three dogs belonging to an unidentified man surrounding the lifeless body of a security guard.
In a chilling post, he wrote, “Pinnock Estate last night. A resident did not properly lock in his dogs. They escaped and mauled an Estate security man to death.”
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest and detention of the dog’s owner in connection with the fatal incident.
In response to @Ade_yinkar’s assertion that the dog owner would face no consequences, Hundeyin clarified via Twitter: “The dog owner has been arrested and is in our custody.”
In addition to confirming the arrest, PPRO cited a specific section of the Nigerian Constitution which classifies omission to prevent probable danger from an animal in one’s possession as reckless and negligent.
Further investigations are ongoing to determine the details of the tragic incident.
