Kevin Owens Withdraws From WrestleMania 41 Due to Serious Neck Injury

Fans of professional wrestling were left disheartened during Friday Night SmackDown when Kevin Owens announced that he will undergo surgery for a neck injury, forcing him to withdraw from his highly anticipated match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41.
The match was scheduled to take place on April 19-20, 2025, at WWE’s flagship annual event.
According to Newsweek, Owens revealed that the injury likely occurred during a January match when his neck was severely jarred.
Speaking during an appearance on “My Mom’s Basement” with Robbie Fox, Owens detailed how he discovered the extent of his neck injury. He explained that an earlier MRI in December indicated mild to moderate stenosis in his spine, which at the time was not deemed serious.
However, after a January match, Owens experienced significant jarring to his neck, which marked the beginning of persistent issues.
A follow-up MRI confirmed the severity of the injury, leading to the need for surgery.
Despite the injury, Owens continued competing in high-stakes matches against stars like Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn, producing some of the most memorable bouts of the year.
He refrained from blaming any specific wrestler, acknowledging the physical toll of the sport on its athletes.
The absence of Owens at WrestleMania 41 is a significant loss for fans, but his health and recovery remain the top priority. Wrestling enthusiasts around the world hope for his safe and swift recovery.
