Kenyan man secretly opens & runs police station

Kenyan man secretly opens & runs police station – Authorities in Uasin Gishu were left in shock after discovering that a man had secretly established and operated a police post without official approval.

He went as far as painting his personal car in police colors, adding a siren, and conducting arrests.

The suspect would detain individuals for alleged crimes and demand cash fines.

Authorities are now investigating the extent of his activities and how long he operated the unauthorized police post.

The unauthorized facility, located in the Cheboror area of Kesses, was uncovered on March 8 at 11 a.m. when senior police officers visited the site.

Upon arrival, they found a building painted in official police colors, resembling a legitimate police patrol base.

The suspect, a resident of Asis village in Ndugulu Location, Kesses Sub County, had reportedly set up the post at Cherus Centre using a private building without informing law enforcement authorities.

It remains unclear how long the facility had been in operation or whether locals were taken there after being “arrested.”

Investigations have since been launched to determine whether any other individuals were involved, how the facility functioned, and if residents were aware of the deception.

Officials also aim to establish whether the man impersonated law enforcement officers or conducted any police duties.

Legally, setting up a police post requires an extensive bureaucratic process, including the establishment of secure offices, cells, and an armory.

The unauthorized nature of the facility has raised serious concerns about public safety and potential abus€ of authority.

Authorities have urged anyone with information about the case to come forward as the investigation continues.
