Kaizer Chiefs Legend Reneilwe Letsholonyane Joins FC Platinum Coaching Staff

Kaizer Chiefs Legend Reneilwe Letsholonyane Joins FC Platinum Coaching Staff – Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane has begun a new chapter in his coaching career after joining Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side FC Platinum as assistant coach.

Letsholonyane will work alongside newly appointed head coach Thabo Senong, with the South African duo taking over following the departure of Joel Luphahla after a disappointing run of results.

The former Bafana Bafana midfielder travelled to Zvishavane to finalise his contract and is expected to begin work once the necessary work permits and administrative processes are completed. In the meantime, Alex Sigion and Moses Mwafulirwa will continue overseeing first-team training.

FC Platinum are currently 10th on the league table after 25 matches and hope the experienced coaching pair can improve the club’s fortunes during the remaining nine fixtures of the season.

Letsholonyane joins the Zimbabwean club after leaving Botswana Premier League side Matebele FC, where he guided the team to a 10th-place finish and secured its top-flight status in his first season as head coach.

Widely regarded as one of South Africa’s finest midfielders, Letsholonyane made more than 200 appearances for Kaizer Chiefs, won two league titles and several domestic trophies, and earned 54 caps for Bafana Bafana, including representing his country at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

After retiring from professional football in 2021, he coached at the Kaizer Chiefs academy, later worked with AmaZulu’s reserve side, and also served as assistant coach for South Africa’s Under-20 and CHAN national teams before taking charge of Matebele FC.
