Kadoma Woman Arrested for Kidnapping Child to Deceive Lover

Kadoma Woman Arrested for Kidnapping Child to Deceive Lover – A 29-year-old woman from Kadoma has been arrested for the alleged kidnapping of a two-year-old child, whom she falsely presented to her partner as their biological son.
The suspect, identified as Sibongile Dzvairo, reportedly abducted the minor from the care of a domestic worker employed by the child’s mother, Ms. Bridget Banda, in early August.
The incident triggered a weeks-long search that ended this week with the safe recovery of the child in Kwekwe.
According to preliminary investigations, Dzvairo travelled with the child to Kwekwe, where her boyfriend—described as an artisanal miner operating in the area—resides.

Dzvairo is alleged to have misled the man into believing that the child was the product of their prior relationship.
It is further alleged that, under this false pretense, the boyfriend had been providing financial support for the child for more than two years, despite never having met him in person.
According H-Metro, Ms. Banda, a mother of three, described the anguish she endured during the ordeal.
“I endured sleepless nights, worried about my missing son. After some days, my maid recognized Sibongile, and we immediately alerted the police,” said Ms. Banda.
With the assistance of authorities, Dzvairo was tracked to Kwekwe, where she was located with the child. The child has since been safely reunited with his family.
Dzvairo reportedly told police that her boyfriend had issued threats against her life if she failed to produce the child he believed to be his. In a state of desperation, she allegedly abducted the boy in order to maintain the deception.
Though official police comment was not immediately available, sources close to the investigation confirmed that the suspect is being held at Rimuka Police Station in Kadoma. She is expected to appear in court in the coming days to face charges related to child kidnapping and misrepresentation.
Authorities are continuing with investigations.
