Jah Prayzah Mourns Two Zimbabwean Fans K¡lled in Tragic Car Crash in Canada — Zimbabwean music sensation Jah Prayzah has expressed deep sorrow following the tragic deaths of two young Zimbabwean fans, Anotida Maziriri and Edmore Mafuwe, who were k¡lled in a car accident while travelling to attend his concert in Canada over the weekend.
The fatal crash occurred on Saturday night in Edmonton. Preliminary reports indicate that the vehicle carrying the two men failed to negotiate a sharp curve and veered off the road, resulting in a deadly crash. Both victims were pronounced d£ad at the scene.
Maziriri and Mafuwe, Zimbabwean nationals based in Canada, were reportedly en route to the Ndini Mukudzeyi concert, part of Jah Prayzah’s tour in North America. The accident cut short what was meant to be a joyful evening of music and celebration.
In a heartfelt message shared via his social media platforms, Jah Prayzah, born Mukudzeyi Mukombe, conveyed his grief and solidarity with the victims’ families:
> “Ndarwadziwa zvikuru neshoko randafumira kugamuchira. I have learnt of the passing of two young fans of mine, Anotida Maziriri and Edmore Mafuwe, who lost their lives in a tragic car accident while on their way to one of our shows in Canada.
They had travelled far, simply to share a few hours of music and connection with us. To think they never made it to that moment hurts in a way I cannot explain.
Ndirikurwadziwa nekuchema pamwechete nemhuri dzavo. A journey that was planned to create only good memories became a journey that only left us with grief.
To their families: may you be comforted. Ndinonamatira nyaradzo inobva kuna Mwari panguva ino yakaoma. When we return to Zimbabwe, I will also personally pass by and extend my condolences.

The Ndini Mukudzeyi tour, named after Jah Prayzah’s birth name, has drawn thousands of Zimbabwean music lovers abroad, offering them a cultural touchpoint far from home. The incident, however, cast a shadow over the celebrations, with many fans taking to social media to mourn the loss and commend the artist for his compassionate response.
Further investigations into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing. Meanwhile, memorial arrangements for the two men are expected to be announced by their families in due course.
