‘I’m Not Trying to Create Content, My Life Is in Danger’

Socialite (Maiguru Mai Jeremaya) has broken her silence following a harrowing alleged rape ordeal, claiming her life is now in danger after learning in court that one of the accused men is linked to the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO).
“I’m not supposed to be talking about this case, nor am I trying to create content,” the visibly shaken woman said in a now trending video released after her court appearance.
“But I am deliberately telling you this because my life right now is in danger possibly because it was confirmed today that one of the guys, Martin (the accused), is actually a CIO.”
The case exploded on social media over the weekend after the socialite went public with her story, accusing two men Blessing Dube (27) of Chitungwiza and Martin Charlie (25) of Manresa of sexually assaulting her under the guise of a business meeting.
The pair appeared before magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa and were remanded in custody until Tuesday for a bail ruling.
According to court papers, the incident occurred on April 30, 2025, following a series of messages initiated by Charlie, who allegedly lured the woman to Megawatt, Samora Machel Avenue, for what was presented as a legitimate business engagement.
She was then driven to 15 Frank Johnson Avenue, Eastlea, where the ordeal unfolded.
“The complainant was shocked to see a bed, and when she turned back, she saw the second accused locking the door, and the first accused entered the room using the other door, locked it, and started to laugh,” reads part of the court record.
The State alleges that the two men took turns raping the woman, forcing her to perform oral sex and engaging in non-consensual acts multiple times.
Afterward, the accused reportedly booked her an InDrive to send her home. She immediately filed a police report.
While the criminal justice process has begun, the complainant says she now fears for her safety not just because of the traumatic experience, but because of who one of the alleged perpetrators is.
“I thank the girls who came all the way from where I used to stay in Mutamba (Waterfalls) to stand with me in court, and also my colleagues from work who came to support me,” she said.
“I am truly grateful to the public who extended their hand and showed me your support.”
But her voice trembled as she added: “Silence might just cost me my life.”
Outside court, Maiguru Mai Jeremiah, a relative, said the family is gripped by fear.
“We are scared now. When you hear someone in this case is CIO, what are we supposed to think? This is no longer just a court case, it’s a threat to her life,” she said.
