Husband Tells Court ‘We Now Live Like Brother and Sister’ Amid HIV Disclosure

ZAMBIA – A retired employee from Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation (ZESCO), Christopher Sikazwe, has sought to end his 13-year marriage to Ireen Lubambula, citing a lack of intimacy for nearly a year and personal grievances.

During the hearingat the Matero Local Court, Lubambula dropped a bombshell, accusing Sikazwe of infecting her with HIV. She testified that when she confronted him about it, he allegedly dismissed her concerns, saying, “You are not the only person I have infected, so why are you acting like you are the only one affected?”.

According to Diggers, this revelation shed light on deeper issues within their marriage.

Sikazwe insisted the marriage could not continue due to irreconcilable differences, while Lubambula countered his claims, clarifying that her actions were motivated by personal and health concerns.

Sikazwe also alleged that his wife mistreated his mother and violated his privacy, claiming that she had secretly shaved her private parts—a behaviour he found suspicious.

Lubambula refuted these accusations, stating that her actions were motivated by personal and health concerns.

As the case continues to be reviewed, these allegations underline the emotional and health complications within their relationship. The story highlights the devastating impact of broken trust and health disclosures in marital conflicts.
