A man from Lusaka’s Chilanga named Fanwell Banda has filed for divorce from his wife of six years due to her excessive addiction to Aviator and Bolabet.

In court, Banda explained how his 31-year-old wife, Faith Mulongoti, who is a devoted member of Bread of Life Church, has turned him into collateral and subjected him to paying off her substantial debts.

The problems in their marriage began in 2020 when Mulongoti joined a village banking group, after which she became addicted to betting.

Her addiction eventually reached a record high when she started using all the money in Banda’s phone to gamble at inappropriate, late hours.

In a recent incident, she stole his phone and claimed that witches had taken it, going so far as to plant fake ‘evidence’ of witchcraft activity.
