In a heated moment of revenge, a man from Mangwe, Matabeleland South, assaulted his friend with a scorching dehorning iron after discovering him in bed with his wife.
The husband, Thompson Tshuma, faced Bulawayo High Court on charges of murder but was ultimately convicted of culpable homicide. The court sentenced him to three years, fully suspended on condition of good behavior.
The dramatic incident unfolded when Tshuma returned home unexpectedly one night to find his friend in his bedroom wearing only boxers.
A confrontation ensued, with the enraged husband overpowering the intruder and branding him multiple times on his legs, chest, and arms with the red-hot iron.
The injured man initially survived the attack but succumbed to his injuries months later in October 2017, leading to Tshuma’s arrest and court trial.
