HR boss chased from funeral during speech after claiming deceased employee ‘was mischievous’

HR boss chased from funeral during speech after claiming deceased employee ‘was mischievous’ – A solemn funeral service at St John’s United Methodist Church in Vengere turned chaotic when mourners @tt@cked and expelled Collin Mukondomi, the human resources officer at Rusape General Hospital.

Mukondomi had been invited to speak about his late subordinate, Martin Karachi, who had passed away the previous Saturday.

However, instead of delivering a respectful tribute, he launched into a speech that sh0cked and angered the attendees as reported by Manica Post.

According to witnesses, Mukondomi, the boss, questioned the legitimacy of Karichi’s title, claiming he was incorrectly addressed as “Dr” despite only being a nurse aide.

He further accused the deceased of illegally taking hospital medication to treat people without authorization.

In a move that inflamed tensions further, Mukondomi boasted about saving Karichi from dismissal and instead demoting him to a general hand, emphasizing his power as an HR officer.

Mourners, including Karichi’s family and church members, erupted in outrage.

The director of ceremonies had to intervene and seize the microphone in an attempt to restore order.

However, the situation quickly escalated as enraged relatives physically dragged Mukondomi out of the church and b€at him. Amid the chaos, he fled from the scene.

A senior church member, speaking anonymously, condemned Mukondomi’s remarks, stating that it is deeply un-African to speak ill of the d€ad. “We never expected such behavior from a former colleague, especially one in a senior position. It was completely unacceptable,” they said.

Although Mukondomi initially denied being @ss@ulted and claimed he left the funeral peacefully, he later admitted that his comments were inappropriate.

The HR boss expressed regret and acknowledged that he had offended many people.

“I wish to extend my sincerest apologies to all concerned parties,” HR boss Mukondomi said. “I have not yet approached the family because I believe emotions are still running high, but I intend to do so. My comments were inappropriate, and I am not proud of them.”
