Hojlund Double Secures Fourth Straight Win for United Despite Scare at Luton

Manchester United edged past Luton Town 2-1 on Sunday, securing their fourth consecutive league victory and inching closer to the coveted top four under manager Erik ten Hag.

The star of the show was undoubtedly 21-year-old striker Rasmus Hojlund, who etched his name in the record books by becoming the youngest player to score in six consecutive Premier League games.

He wasted no time, putting United ahead within 36 seconds after capitalizing on an error by Luton’s Amari’i Bell. He doubled the lead minutes later with a clever chest finish from Alejandro Garnacho’s corner.

However, Luton refused to roll over. The next 15 minutes saw a dramatic shift in momentum, with Carlton Morris pulling one back for the home side and United surviving multiple scares. Casemiro, already on a yellow card, was fortunate to escape a red card for a reckless challenge on Ross Barkley.

The second half saw a more composed United, with Casemiro being substituted at halftime. Bruno Fernandes and Garnacho both had opportunities to extend the lead but failed to convert.

Despite late pressure from Luton, including a last-minute effort from Barkley that rattled the bar, United held on to claim the crucial three points.

This victory puts United within three points of Tottenham Hotspur in fifth place, who currently occupy the final Champions League qualification spot. With the season entering its crucial stages, every point will be vital for United’s ambitions of returning to Europe’s elite competition.
