Although club sponsor Wicknell Chivayo had proposed former Warriors captain Benjani Mwaruwari for the role, sources close to the club indicated that the technical decision had already been finalised.

Senong is currently an assistant coach at Singida Fountain Gate in Tanzania and previously served as head coach of the Lesotho national team, a position he assumed in August 2019.

Before that, he was in charge of South Africa’s Under-20 national side, the Amajitas, where he earned praise for youth development and tactical discipline.
