Herentals FC Fined $5,000; Officials and Ngoma Banned for Three Seasons Due to Violent Incidents

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) Disciplinary Committee has taken action against Herentals FC officials, Paradzai Afa and Tairos Ngoma, following violent incidents during a match against Caps United FC on September 13, 2025, at Rufaro Stadium.

During the game, a security official from Herentals FC attacked a football fan in the VVIP area, while another official assaulted a police officer after being arrested for violent behaviour post-match.

In its ruling, the Disciplinary Committee expressed concern that Herentals FC has repeatedly faced charges of violent conduct. They noted that previous penalties have not stopped further incidents, especially involving Afa and Ngoma.

As a result, the committee has fined Herentals FC $5,000. Additionally, Afa and Ngoma will be banned from all official club duties during PSL matches for three seasons. The club is also required to play its next three home games without fans, allowing only accredited personnel to attend.

These penalties will take effect starting from Matchday 32, which includes Herentals FC’s upcoming home game against Yadah FC.

The PSL remains committed to ensuring safety and security in football and urges clubs to properly train their officials and security personnel to follow league rules and regulations.
