Harare motorists will need to go digital when paying for parking as the City of Harare announces a switch to self-service parking on selected streets starting 1 December 2025.
The move marks a major shift towards automated parking management in the capital.
According to the City’s Parking Management, the affected zones include Third Street between Jason Moyo Avenue and Robert Mugabe Road, and Park Street between Jason Moyo Avenue and Samora Machel Avenue.
In these areas, parking marshals will no longer be on duty.
“These specific sections will be fully self-service. No parking marshals will be deployed.

Parking fees remain unchanged.
The statement also highlited that the move is part of a broader digital transformation programme:
“We aim to improve operational efficiency and enhance the parking experience using modern technologies.
“These changes form part of a long-term programme to integrate Artificial Intelligence into parking management systems.”
