Harare Man Haunted by Girlfriend’s Spirit Ends Own Life

HARARE – Richard Nenhowe, the Harare man who was acquitted of his girlfriend’s murder in 2020 due to mental instability, tragically ended his life last week, five years after the incident.
Despite escaping imprisonment, Nenhowe struggled with emotional torment, reportedly haunted by visions of Angela Dapi’s spirit.
Nenhowe’s life took a tragic turn in 2019 when he killed Dapi during a planned getaway at Elizabeth Hotel.
As reported by H-Metro, he was found mentally unfit to stand trial and avoided a prison sentence. However, those close to him revealed that he never fully recovered emotionally or mentally from the event.
Family members disclosed that Nenhowe spoke of seeing Dapi’s ghost, which he believed was urging him to perform rituals to appease an avenging spirit.
Financial and emotional struggles reportedly hindered his ability to address these spiritual concerns, deepening his distress.
On the day of his death, Nenhowe was with friends when he allegedly consumed a pill and collapsed shortly after.
Witnesses stated that he initially denied taking anything but later began vomiting.
Tensions arose at his burial as some family members expressed anger, fearing that his actions could have endangered others.
Concerns have also emerged about the potential unrest of Nenhowe’s spirit, given the violent nature of his history.
