Gun shots over suspected ritual murder case in St Mary’s

One person died after several gunshots were fired at St Mary’s Business Centre in Nyanga.

Posting on the microblogging site Twitter, the ZRP said it is investigating circumstances surrounding the unfortunate death of one person after several shots were fired in a case of public violence.

The unfortunate incident allegedly occurred as members of the public clashed with the police who were trying to restore order when the mob tried to enforce a local chief’s ruling on a local businessman whom they alleged to have murdered a villager for ritual purposes.

Meanwhile, the Police indicated that comprehensive investigations are underway to ensure that the law takes its course.
