Former MP Job Wiwa Sikhala Denies Involvement in Planned Protests

HARARE – Former Zengeza West MP Job Wiwa Sikhala has come forward to categorically deny rumors of his involvement in planned protests slated for the end of March.

In a statement, Sikhala clarified that he has neither knowledge of nor any association with the said protests and that any accusation linking him to such activities is wholly unfounded.

Sikhala’s statement was prompted by a post on his X handle (formerly Twitter), which was misinterpreted and led to baseless assumptions about his purported involvement in the protests.

The former MP emphasized that his commitments and energies are focused on more substantive and constructive pursuits and that he harbors no interest in engaging in endeavors that deviate from his core principles.

Sikhala also addressed the issue of misinformation on social media, urging the public to exercise discernment and scrutiny when consuming information.

He stressed the importance of validating facts before sharing or disseminating them, and called upon those disseminating fallacious allegations to desist promptly.

Furthermore, Sikhala underscored his commitment to addressing issues through constructive and lawful avenues, rather than promoting protests that may incite unrest or instability.

He acknowledged individuals’ right to articulate their grievances but emphasized that protestation is not a course of action he is disposed to undertake or endorse.
