FIFA President Congratulates Scottland on Premier Soccer League Title

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has extended his congratulations to Scottland, the new champions of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, after their impressive first season in Zimbabwe’s top football division.

In a letter to the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), Infantino praised Scottland’s organized approach, pointing out that their victory highlights the increasing competitiveness of the league.

Scottland, also known as Mabviravira, made history by becoming only the second team to win the league during their debut season, a feat last accomplished by Black Rhinos in 1985.

Experts see their success as a sign of changing trends in Zimbabwean football, where newcomer teams are starting to challenge more established clubs.

Infantino also recognized ZIFA’s efforts in promoting football development, emphasizing that the association’s reforms and youth programs are crucial for strengthening football in Zimbabwe.

Looking ahead, Scottland will focus on their upcoming participation in continental competitions, which will be a significant challenge for the club as they seek to prove their capabilities on a larger stage.
