Female Tutor Sentenced to 15 Years for Sexual Abuse of 10-Year-Old Female Student
A 26-year-old private tutor has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for aggravated indecent assault against her 10-year-old student.
The case was heard in the Harare Regional Magistrates’ Court, where details emerged of the abuse that occurred between August and October 2025.
The tutor, who had gained the trust of her student, exploited that trust in a disturbing way.
She preyed on the girl, engaging in abusive acts in both Botswana and Borrowdale, Harare. Reports indicate she would order the young girl to undress and insert her two fingers into the girl’s private parts.
To maintain control and silence, the tutor threatened the child with violence if she told anyone about the abuse.
The situation came to light when the student’s mother noticed her daughter was having trouble walking and raised concerns.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe expressed relief at the sentence, emphasizing their commitment to protecting children from such violations, especially by those in trusted positions like tutors.
