Former Rhythm City actress Itumeleng Bokaba has ignited a social media firestorm after posting pictures of herself in her underwear, sparking a debate about body image, self-love, and the ever-present scrutiny of public figures. The juicy pictures have since literally broken the internet!
The Joburg-based actress, known for her role as Mampho in the popular soapie, took to her Instagram on Tuesday, 9 July, to share the images, which she says were intended to showcase her progress on her weight loss journey and celebrate her current glamorous state.
“I’ve even posted some of these photos on my Facebook before becoming famous,” Itumeleng told Daily Sun, dismissing the surprise at the reaction. “I’m not ashamed of my body,” she added, her voice firm and confident.
The post, however, triggered a wave of mixed reactions, with some fans questioning whether her account had been compromised. Itumeleng, however, remained unfazed, explaining that she’s always been open about her body and her journey.
“I’ve consistently shared my journey regarding weight, body, and mental health,” she said. “So the feedback wasn’t unexpected.”
